My online shops are named after my Granny Grace Cox nee de Quincey. She lived in London and worked as a Master Tailor in the West End fashion houses. She was evacuated to Deddington, Oxfordshire in 1941 and met my Grampy. She became the local seamstress in the village of Deddington.
I have a lifelong passion for knitting and have been designing knitting patterns since 2012 selling them on Etsy, LoveCrafts, and Ravelry. My patterns range from fair isle knitting to using knitting stitches to create texture and colour. My knitting patterns are for intermediate and advanced knitters, worked flat using two single-pointed needles. My designs are original, inspired by nature, history, places I visit, and where I live in the English countryside. From the age of 16yrs, I trained as a professional ballet dancer, and after many years on the stage, I went on to run Deddington Ballet School for over 25 years. I retired from teaching ballet in June 2021. In 2018, I started my City & Guilds qualifications at IDC College, Bromsgrove, and gained a Level 3 Certificate in Textiles. I am currently studying BA (Hons) in Creative Arts with The Open College of Arts, UK. I have been tutoring Textiles & Dressmaking since 2019 in Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. I can tutor children, young people, and adults in knitting, dressmaking, and embroidery/ creative stitching. For any information about my patterns and tutoring, please contact me below. Joanna |
