Rubislaw Granite Celtic Cross: Knit & Text
I found a newspaper article from The Aberdeen Journal dated Wednesday, September 24th, 1902. Sir George Bannerman had lived most of his life in Brackley, Northamptonshire, and is buried in St. Peter's Churchyard, Brackley. The newspaper article wrote about the design and installation of a Celtic Cross on his and his family's grave.

Inspiration
​When I began researching this exercise, I found a newspaper article about the Celtic Cross in Brackley churchyard. When I visited the churchyard, I was amazed to see the cross still standing.

​Once I had taken photographs of the cross, I focused on a small part of the design and added text. 

I used 4ply 100% Shetland Wool, to recognise the Scottish granite used in the Celtic Cross.
