Joanna Cox Marshall
Joanna is a practising textile artist, designer, and qualified teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching children to adults. She is the founder and designer of Edith Grace Designs, a successful online shop selling original knitting patterns and cross-stitch patterns. She attended IDC College, Bromsgrove, and gained several City and Guilds qualifications in Fashion and Textiles including a Level 3 Certificate in Textiles. In 2023, she started a BA (Hons) in Creative Arts with The Open College of Arts (The Open University), specialising in textiles and art to develop her artistic work and explore the creative process of being an artist. Joanna has made stage costumes for dance shows and pantomimes since 1996 and enjoys pattern cutting in her spare time. She is a keen knitter and enjoys being part of the Brackley Library Knit & Natter Group. Currently, she is working on a project highlighting arts and crafts in the community. Phoebe Marshall
Phoebe graduated from Bath Spa University in 2024 with a BA (Hons) in Textiles Design for Fashion & Interiors, and specialised in Multi Media Textiles which included; Machine Embroidery, Digital Embroidery, Hand Embroidery, Domestic & Industrial Machine Knitting, Hand Knitting, Screen Printing, and Digital Printing. She is currently studying a part-time Masters in Art History at The Open University.
Phoebe is a freelance artist currently working as a part-time screen printing assistant, printing wallpaper & fabric. She is a shoe collection volunteer at Northampton Museum, where she documents, handles and cares for the artefacts in the archives. Phoebe is also a collection care volunteer at Sulgrave Manor, Oxfordshire.
Phoebe opened her Fifi Grace Designs Etsy shop at the age of 14 years selling original cross-stitch patterns using her illustration skills when designing her animal and historical patterns. Prior to attending university, she gained several City & Guilds qualifications in Machine Sewing Skills, Tailoring & Hand Embroidery from IDC College, Bromsgrove.
At university Phoebe was introduced to ceramics, she continues learning pottery through regular classes in her spare time.

PRICE LIST
All sessions are 90 minutes and held in my Brackley home studio.
For optimum learning in technical subjects like Dressmaking & Sewing Machine Skills, I keep a maximum of 2 people attending each session, this allows learners to bring a friend or a family member if they wish. My experience as a teacher and a student is to keep numbers to a minimum, this mean you will get the individual attention and maximum learning experience from your lesson, especially in the technical subject of dressmaking .
Sewing Machine Skills & Dressmaking
Sewing Machine Skills - All materials provided - £30 per session - Maximum 2 people per session.
Dressmaking - Bring your own materials & pattern - £30 per session - Maximum 2 people per session.
You can bring your own tools and sewing machine to each session or these can be loaned at no additional cost.
Hand Knitting & Crocheting
Complete Beginners:
You can bring your own needles and wool or these can be loaned during your first introductory session. Bring your own wool and pattern for personal projects.
£30 per session, bring a friend for an additional £10 - Maximum 2 people per session.
Improvers:
You can bring your own needles and wool or these can be loaned if you are learning new techniques. Bring your own wool and pattern for personal projects.
£30 per session, bring a friend for an additional £10 - Maximum 3 people per session.
Embroidery, Needlework & Creative Stitching
All materials and equipment will be provided for your first introductory session. Bring your own materials and equipment for personal projects.
